The JLR Engine Manufacturing Plant in Wolverhampton is a state of the art facility that is not only efficient in terms of production but is also extremely ecological. The brief was to design an 'art installation' for the reception area but we took this several steps further.

We created a concept that was not just art but became the start of the factory tour and the first visitor touchpoint in the story of the plant. It utilised video content from the autoshows to demonstrate the Ingenium engine technolgy as well as the story of the factory itself, it's environmental responsibility and the large part it plays in the local community.

Integrated into the design were a number of practical features that allowed it to fit within the day to day running of the facility. These included being easy to move to allow the movement of vehicles within the space and programmable lighting so that it could change during the day as the sun moved around the building.
